Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA describes births rising through “late Summer/early Autumn,” and Cornell’s Maddie’s Shelter Medicine Program extends the intake peak all the way to October. September kittens are the second wave — many from a queen’s second litter of the year, since Cornell puts the norm at “1-2 litters per season.” A September birthday is therefore a believable estimate, and a common one.
