February is the month cats spend at the window: too cold to want out, too bright to sleep through. Its two signs handle the wait differently — Aquarius for February 1–18 builds a project out of the curtain cord; Pisces for February 19–29 simply watches the birds and feels things about them. Which one is on your sill?

Born February 1–18: The Aquarius Cat The Eccentric
An Aquarius cat treats the apartment as a puzzle box. Doors are hypotheses. The faucet is a mystery worth an hour. This is the cat who learns the sound of the treat drawer from two rooms away, then pretends not to care when you open it.
They are not aloof — they are selective. An Aquarius shows affection sideways: sitting near, not on; following you room to room at a dignified distance; delivering one exact headbutt at bedtime. They ask to be respected as a peer, and they are worth it. For the whole portrait, read the Aquarius cat profile.
Best with: an owner who finds a cat with a private agenda delightful rather than insulting.
Born February 19–29: The Pisces Cat The Dreamer
Late-February Pisces cats are the zodiac’s soft receivers. They read the room before entering it, appear on the lap of whoever is sad, and vanish under the bed when voices rise. Their play is dreamy — a long stare at a sunbeam, a slow-motion pounce on nothing you can see.
Pisces cats bond deeply and quietly, often to one person, and can be startled by chaos. Give them a high perch, a predictable evening, and a voice kept low, and they return the favor with a devotion that feels almost telepathic. The Pisces cat profile goes deeper.
Best with: an owner who keeps the household gentle and notices small things.
The off-season kitten What February birthdays usually mean
Cornell’s Maddie’s Shelter Medicine Program lists December through February as the months of lowest kitten intake in U.S. shelters, and Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA notes that the breeding cycle only restarts as daylight lengthens after the winter solstice. A true February kitten is therefore uncommon outside the warmest regions — the same PHS page says places like Hawaii, Arizona and southern California “see a relatively consistent number of kittens year-round.” If your cat’s February date came from a shelter estimate, both signs deserve a look; the unknown-birthday guide explains how to narrow it.
Born on the cusp? Around February 18–19
A birthday within a couple of days of February 18–19 is the Aquarius–Pisces cusp: the inventor with a tender streak. Cusp cats here dismantle your desk and then curl up on the wreckage to comfort you about it. Read both portraits, or let the free quiz decide from behavior.
Only know the month, not the day? Very common with rescues
Only know the month? An Aquarius announces itself by investigating; a Pisces by absorbing. Put a new object on the floor: the Aquarius tests it, the Pisces watches you test it. Every sign is in the cat zodiac guide, and the cat moon sign explains why two cats of the same sun sign can feel so different.
Your February birth month cat If the February birthday is yours, not the cat’s
Type “birth month cat” into a search box and the lists that come back don’t agree with each other. That’s because a month holds two signs, not one temperament. Furscopes matches by sign and quotes the Cat Fanciers’ Association’s breed pages directly.
Born February 1–18 (Aquarius): the Sphynx — the CFA’s breed page puts it this way: “Sphynx are curious, outgoing, very intelligent, and anything but shy.”
Born February 19–29 (Pisces): the Persian — per the CFA: “Easygoing and mellow, they can be persuaded to chase a toy, but are happier simply receiving attention and affection from their people.”
A breed is a tendency, not a promise; the cat in front of you outranks any list. For the match keyed to your full sign rather than your month, see Aquarius owners or Pisces owners.
